I stayed several nights at the Fiesta Americana Mexico Satélite which is built into a shopping mall on the Periférico Manuel Ávila Camacho Blvd. about where Ciudad Satélite and Tlalnepantla meet in the State of Mexico, but very close to the edge of Mexico City.
I confess I am not a big city guy, but if I'm going to have to visit one, this hotel was a great choice. Though I am fully bilingual, I am a foreigner and don't know this city well, so it was nice to be able to feel secure, and have a mall right there to walk around in a safe area.
Hotel reception is located on the ground floor which you can access from the street, underground parking or the mall. From there, use the elevator that will take you to the hotel lobby - restaurant - bar floor. To access your room's floor there is another elevator which requires you to use your room key to activate, and gives you access only to your floor.
My room was very comfortable. I enjoyed the feather pillows, comforter, and special touches. The room came equipped with a king sized bed, large screen TV (with ROKU and cable), closet with iron and ironing board, table, comfy chair and ottoman, drawers, good lighting, many electric outlets, WiFi, and modern clean bathroom with rain shower. The towels and linens were great.
There were many amenities I did not have time to check out: gym, spa, conference rooms, full service laundry, valet parking, etc.
I did enjoy the hotel's Moxaico Restaurant where the free and bountiful breakfast buffet is provided. The buffet featured quite a few hot foods, meats, chilaquiles, a variety of scrambled eggs options (including to-order), fruits, breads, salads, cheeses, sides, etc. I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. More than once the same server, Edwin, attended my table and did so with excellence, professionalism, and warm hospitality. After the first day he remembered me and greeted me by name! He is a true credit to their staff.
Actually, all my experiences with the hotel and restaurant staff were great and did their jobs well - from reception, cleaning staff, lobby personnel, to the restaurant, they made me feel seen, genuinely valued and welcome. That doesn't happen just anywhere... and since I was traveling alone, that was meaningful.
Thankfully, since I was in town for a conference, I had local people to pick me up and take me where I needed to go. I would not want to attempt to drive or even make my way around on my own with Mexico City's traffic! It's enough to take your prayer life to a new level - that's for sure.
I'd definitely stay at this Fiesta Americana again. Highly recommended.
