Recently attended my sister's destination birthday celebration at Devossion by Live Aqua Playa del Carmen, an all adult -all inclusive facility that was fabulous. From service, to restaurants, facilities, room sizes and amenities all was very well done. Each day we started with a Yoga class with Anna as our instructor. One day we even had yoga on the beach. During the day there were a host of activities to engage those who wanted to participate. The pool area is plentiful with lounges and cabanas, plus attentive staff. At night it's a bit more subdued. They have a small venue "The Speakeasy", hosting a combination of live music or DJ for dancing. There is a serious problem with the seaweed (Sargassum). While there are crews working on it all the time, the problem comes from West Africa driven by nutrient pollution, warm waters, ocean currents and etc. As a result, you might consider alternatives such as the Cenotes, (spring fed sinkholes as deep as 40'), which we did. Xcaret is the park most often visited, but there are others a lot closer. We visited 3 Cenotes by Extreme Adventures and had a blast. Bring your water shoes, and biodegradable sunscreen. While there we also, visited 5th Avenue and walked to the end by the ferry port to Cozumel.

The interiors were beautiful. The rooms were amazing, the restaurants were well decorated and chic. The pools were well maintained and the beach area was lovely. Everything was spotless, the staff were absolutely amazing. The food was delicious from the Italian restaurant, the grill and the sushi restaurant. The breakfast buffet offered a delicious array. We especially loved the coffee shop - it was such a nice touch. Most importantly - we were blown away by the staff and how special they make you feel. Laura at breakfast, Juan pablo in the Italian restaurant, Abraham at concierge (who helped my partner propose to me!) Alejandro the bell boy. Andres and Melanie in the entertainment team - all of them were absolutely fantastic, but truthfully every member of staff we came across at this resort was exceptional. We got engaged during our stay at Live Devossion - so we will forever have such happy memories of our stay. Thanks so much to everyone there, we're already missing you!

My stay at Devossion was nothing short of amazing. What truly made this resort stand out was the staff. Every single employee I encountered went above and beyond and genuinely seemed happy to be there. Their level of service made me feel completely taken care of from start to finish. Even management checked on me several times throughout my stay to make sure everything was going well, which made the experience feel even more personal and thoughtful.

Absolutely beautiful resort. The atmosphere, architecture and attention to detail are 5 Stars. Luxurious and Chic at its best. ALL staff are genuinely hospitable, friendly and engaging. Customer service was superb. The food is on another level. Delicious to all pallets and creatively presented. There was not one restaurant we ate at that did not amaze our taste buds. This resort is HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing and romantic environment and experience. Not for the wild party goers...But (For those ppl you can still walk down to 5th Ave and find plenty to do in the night. The Beaches were the ONLY sad part when we visited due to the season we came as there was plenty of Sargassum (that being said this is put of control for the resort...regardless the staff were out every morning doing there part to try and clean it up) We will definitely comeback! Thanks to all the staff at Devossion, Erick and Melanie are also honorable mentions as they were the entertainment duo that kept us engaged and busy throughout the days with their activities! See you sooner than later.

The Devossion by Live Aqua Playa del Carmen is the most amazing hotel we have ever stayed at. The hotel is modern and in a beautiful location, they work hard to clear the sargassum and the beach is white and sandy. The food was delicious, with lots of choices, Mexican, Italian, Asian and a steak restaurant, everything fresh and healthy. The gym is well stocked, with stretching, functional training, jumping sessions, aqua aerobics and Pilates all offered by the phenomenal entertainment team (Andres, Marlon, Erik, Ana and Mel). There are plenty of activities provided during the day (kayak, water volleyball, arts and crafts), but the hotel is also really well placed to explore Tulum, Chicheniza and the surrounding areas. We recommend hopping on the ferry to Cozumel to watch the Luche Libre wrestling. The spa experience was wonderful. The hotel staff are friendly, happy and they go out of their way to make your stay the most wonderful one possible. 6 stars all round and we don’t want to leave!
