Located 14 kilometers from Antón Lizardo beach in the municipality of Alvarado, the Isla de Enmedio is known for its white sand and turquoise waters - more similar to the Mexican Caribbean than to those of the Gulf of Mexico. This beautiful island is part of the Veracruz Reef System, declared a Protected Natural Area in 1992.
