Día de Muertos in San Miguel de Allende

11/02/2022

November 2nd | Jardín Allende

During the Day of All Saints (November 1st) and the Day of the Dead (November 2nd), vibrant altars are placed in the streets surrounding the Jardín Allende, as well as in churches, hotels, restaurants, and some shops. Thousands of photographs are taken, and contests, competitions, and pumpkin sculpture exhibitions are organized.

For some years now, members of the American community in San Miguel de Allende have participated in a very original parade: dressed up as Catrinas and Catrines, they roam the Jardín Allende at night, handing out sweets to children.
