According to the Mayan tradition, from October 31 to November 2, the souls of the deceased persons obtain permission to return to their homes with their loved ones. They prepare with great devotion and enthusiasm the altars that honor relatives who are no longer alive. Hanal Pixán is a traditional celebration, one of the most important in Yucatán, in which the best of culture, gastronomy and mysticism are combined.
